The Tsunami Diaries is the inspiring true story of two best friends who strike out on a quest to document the destruction of the Tsunami in Indonesia. When pro surfer Timmy Turner and photographer Dustin Humphrey's pursuit hits a roadblock, they hatch a plan to carry out a relief mission of their own. They acquire a boat, The Mikumba, and set sail to the damaged corners of the Indian Ocean.
Timmy brings food, medical supplies, and a few goats to the neglected remote islands of Northern Sumatra. Recruiting people along the way, including Timmy's Mom, Bill Sharp and Matt George, they form a motley crew of surfers, surf journalists, and doctors, to confront dangerous obstacles around every turn. The Tsunami Diaries is a story of tremendous courage, and a testimony to the universal spirit of people helping one another.
THE TSUNAMI DIARIES will be available on DVD May 22nd, and includes a Timmy Turner Filmography, the never before released JUST DREAMING (with Timmy, Brett Schwartz, Kris Kamacho and friends surviving the SARS epidemic and near starvation on a boatquest for barrels), as well as the preview of Timmy’s new project COLD THOUGHTS.
A portion of all proceeds from this release will be donated to the villages documented in this film.
